West Coast Scenic Ride, test run

It was that cold this morning that the alarm clock stopped working!!

Well, thats my excuse and I am sticking to it.

I was meant to be on the road at 5.45pm and didn’t get out of bed until 6.10am so I had lost half an hour of my session already.  Luckily I had prepared averything the night before and it was an amazingly fast transition from bed to bike!!

The ride itself was awesome.  My best time on West Coast road (and I was tring to take it easy), my best time down Forest Hill road (I am no good at going downhill so this pleases me) and I managed to sit with the fast bunch on the ride quite comfortably.

Tonight was also the big test for the foot.  I was given the all clear to try running again on Tuesday but as there was nothing in my plan until next week I was quite happy to wait.  Ben said I could test out the foot this weekend with a small 3km run.

Managing 4.54 min kilometres in a test run without any discomfort was amazing and I can’t wait to get back into it again next week.
